Got my Synevo panel back. The ferritin is on the lower end (18 ng/mL). I've been more tired than usual this week — should I start an iron supplement?

Your ferritin came back at 18 ng/mL, which sits below your lab's reference range ref · 30–400. Iron stores trending low can absolutely fit with the fatigue you've been describing — but a single reading isn't enough to act on.

A couple of things worth doing, in order:
  1. Bring this panel to your GP. A repeat ferritin in 4–6 weeks, along with CBC and CRP, will tell us whether it's a real trend or a transient dip.
  2. Talk to them about iron status before starting any supplement — dose, form, and duration should come from someone who can also check absorption.

What about the tiredness in the meantime? Anything I can do that's not a supplement?

Three angles, no supplement-shaped advice in any of them:
  • Trainer says — pull intensity back this week, keep the volume. HRV is up but a low-iron substrate doesn't love hard intervals. Tuesday tempo → swap to easy Z2.
  • Nutritionist says — three late dinners landed this week; energy in the morning will be cleanest if dinner finishes ≥3h before bed. Pair the protein with vitamin-C–rich produce.
  • Psychologist says — you've been carrying the Thursday review since Sunday. Some of the fatigue might not be physiological. Want to revisit the boundaries thread?
